So -- what are you plans for this coming Monday, a.k.a. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a.k.a. inauguration day? Personally, I hope to be out on the trail (not that I'm not patriotic, but come on... hiking!) -- and if you're lucky enough to live near one of our 58 national parks, you can do the same for free. That's because Monday, January 21, 2013 is one of five opportunities for free access to all U.S. National Parks in 2013.

My favorite National Park is Denali National Park and Preserve. The one I want to visit most -- at least right now -- is Grand Canyon National Park. I haven't been there since I was a little girl. I was too small to hike but too big to be carried, so we rode donkeys into the canyon instead.
